An international scientific conference “Polish Language and Polish Studies in Eastern Europe: Past and Present”

   OCTOBER 27, 2014 – Department of Polish philology of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv celebrates its ten-year anniversary. On this occasion, on October 24-26 an international scientific conference “Polish language and Polish studies in Eastern Europe: Past and Present” was held. The conference was dedicated to difficulties which Polish language, literature and culture faces in Eastern Europe. The attention was focused on integration of the scientific community, engaged in Polish Philology in Eastern Europe.

  The participants of the conference  were well-known linguists, theorists of literature and culture experts from different regions of Ukraine, Poland and Belarus, among them: Rostyslav Radyshevskyy, Tetiana Chernysh, Sergiy Yermolenko (Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University), Marek Lazinskyy, Piotr Garntsarek, Andrzej Zienievich (University of Warsaw), Wieslaw Stefanchyk (Jagiellonian University, Krakow), Anna Dombrovska (Wroclaw University) Bogdan Valchak (Poznan University), Grazyna Zazhytska (Lodz University), Barbara Giershevska Janush Detka (University of Kieltse), Olga Huscheva (Belarusian State University, Minsk), Mykhaylo Hnatiuk, Valeriy Korniychuk , Taras Luchuk,  Alla Kravchuk (Lviv Ivan Franko National University).

  Young researchers engaged in the problems of Ukrainian-Polish linguistic and cultural borderlands and specifity of learning Polish as a foreign language in Eastern Europe also participated in the conference.
