Exchange of Experience in European Law: Delegation of Lawyers from IFNUL visited University of Würzburg
DECEMBER 24, 2015 – In the framework of joint projects of the Ivan Franko University of Lviv and the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, who received the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, about 40 academics and law students attended the School of European Law “Democracy and Human Rights Protection in Europe”, which has been recently held at the University of Würzburg.
The lawyers of the University of Lviv attended lectures, during which famous German lawyers discussed the foundations of the European legal space, the system of legal norms in the field of migration law, in particular the protection of refugees in the EU, as well as construction, administrative, environmental law, labor, international private and corporate law and intellectual property rights.
Taking into consideration the positive experience of introducing joint certification program, the Ivan Franko University of Lviv and the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg intend to further deepening Ukrainian-German cooperation, also due to the introduction of new joint certification programmes, especially regarding European and German law. During their stay at the University of Würzburg, one the most prestigious universities in Germany, the delegation from our University productively worked at the library of the Faculty of Law.
As part of the cultural program Ukrainian lawyers became familiar with the activities and undertakings of the Chamber of Commerce of Würzburg and Schweinfurt. Moreover, German colleagues staged the reception for the representatives of the National University of Lviv at the Town Hall, where there was an official meeting with the mayor. The next two days the delegation spent in Dresden (Germany) and Prague (Czech Republic).
