IFNUL Rector Met with the Ambassador of Slovenia to Ukraine

FEBRUARY 27, 2017 – Nataša Prah, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Ukraine visited the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. During the meeting with the Rector of the University, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, Vice-Rector for Research, Teaching and International Cooperation, Prof. Mariya Zubrytska and representatives of the Faculty of Philology diplomat stressed that Slovenia fully supports Ukrainian struggle for the territorial integrity and is ready to promote reforms in our country. The Ambassador of Slovenia claims that it is important for her country to deepen relations with Ukraine on the cultural, diplomatic and economic levels.

IFNUL Rector admitted that studying Slavic languages and the Slovenian language in particular is one of the important areas of work of the IFNUL. In addition, the IFNUL is the only higher education institution in Ukraine where all Slavic languages are taught. Volodymyr Melnyk expressed his gratitude for the support and the assistance from the Slovenian Embassy in learning the Slovenian language at our institution.
