IFNUL Rector met with the President of MacEwan University (Canada)
MAY 23, 2016 – On May 22, 2016, President of the MacEwan University (Edmonton, Canada) David Atkinson with his wife and Project Manager from Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre at MacEwan University Yuriy Konkin visited IFNUL, where they met with our Rector, Prof. Volodymyr Melnyk, Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching Yaroslav Harasym, Dean of the Faculty of Philology Svyatoslav Pylypchuk, Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy Dmytro Hertsiuk and Coordinator of the International Summer School “Ukrainian Language and Country Studies” Lesia Antoniv.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between universities within implementation of joint educational and research projects, in particular in establishing academic exchanges and student participation in summer schools. Dmytro Hertsiuk told that the Faculty of Pedagogy was involved in the international project on inclusive education with the colleagues from MacEwan University. The participation of students from the US and Canada at the annual the International Summer School “Ukrainian Language and Country Studies” was presented by Lesia Antoniv. David Atkinson gladly supported the proposal of IFNUL Rector to focus on strengthening cooperation in humanities and later on in natural sciences.
