IFNUL Students Visited University of Zielona Góra (Poland)

JUNE 23, 2015 – In order to develop cooperation and exchange of experience, traditions and culture, students of the Department of Polish Philology of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv visited University of Zielona Góra in Poland for the third year. The initiator of this trip was Prof. Stanisław Borawski, Head of the Department of History and Grammar of Polish language at the University of Zielona Góra.

Ukrainian delegation made a presentation on Easter traditions in Ukraine during which representatives of our University familiarized their Polish colleagues with traditional Ukrainian cuisine, Ukrainian national symbols, and performed folk songs to the accompaniment of the bandura – all of this touched the audience extremely.

Students from Ukraine attended classes of Polish language and literature, listened to informative lectures of Polish teachers and interacted with Polish students. Colleagues from Poland also prepared a rich program for guests and many surprises: trips, tours, excursions and visited theaters and the museums with them. The particular impression students and professors from Ukraine got from the meeting with a famous modern writer – Olga Tokarchuk, whose works repeatedly became the subject of research among Ukrainian philologists and literature critics, as well as among IFNUL students.
