Nobel Laureate Roald Hoffmann – Doctor Honoris Causa of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv
OCTOBER 6, 2015 – On September 30, 2015 at the Assembly Hall of the University Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Professor Roald Hoffmann from Cornell University conducted the open lecture on the topic “Protochemistry as a bridge”.
IFNUL First Vice-Rector, Professor Vasyl Vysochanskyi said that on June 24, 2015 the Academic Council of the University unanimously made a decision to assign Roald Hoffmann title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv for his outstanding contribution to the world of science, strengthening Ukraine’s authority in the international community and active collaboration with Lviv National University.
“It is very pleasant that a person born in our land has absorbed all the best that has Ukraine. Today each of those present have the opportunity to listen to the legendary scientist who has achieved the highest success, honor and glory “, – said Head of Lviv Regional State Administration Oleh Syniutka and thanked Professor Roald Hoffmann for his visit to Lviv and Lviv University.
After the official presentation of the Nobel Laureate in Chemistry – Doctor Honoris Causa of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Professor Roald Hoffmann gave a lecture on how protochemistry combines past and present and how far can reach a thought of theoretical scientist.
