Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrád Group met with students and academic staff of the University

  OCTOBER 8, 2014 – Within the framework of the official visit to Lviv, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrád Group (V4) countries met with IFNUL Rector, Prof. Volodymyr Melnyk as well as with students and academic staff of the University.

  Colleagues from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic were cordially greeted by our Rector Prof. Volodymyr Melnyk, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Maria Zubrytska and Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomatic Service, former Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Republic (2010-2014), Prof. Markiyan Malskyy.

  Professor Melnyk mentioned that during the meeting, the two sides had discussed the matter of possible problems and ways of their solution in the process of establishing and deepening IFNUL cooperation with Visegrád Group countries.

  State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian said that countries–members of the delegation have strong intention to provide effective assistance to Ukraine on the road to EU accession and want to share their experience to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings.

  Foreign high-level officials arrived in Ukraine to hold a number of debates and discussions on issues facing Ukraine in the process of joining the EU in order to continue elaborating a clear strategy and propose concrete steps for necessary assistance.

  Karla Vusterova, Head of the International Visegrad Fund, described the institutional and individual projects in which University and its individual members can take part. For example, Visegrad University Studies Grant (VUSG) is a grant program proposed to universities in order to facilitate the implementation of special training courses, creation of plans related to the activities of the Visegrad Group.
