Academic Cooperation between IFNUL and University of Würzburg

NOVEMBER 17, 2015 – University of Würzburg is one of the biggest higher education institutions in Germany. It is famous for its scientific schools and extremely powerful human potential, in particular it should be notified that 14 professors of the university at different times were Nobel Prize winners. Agreement of Cooperation between IFNUL and Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg was signed in August 2014, providing academic exchanges, joint courses with certification and outlining cooperation in the scientific field. Over a relatively short period of cooperation between the two universities around 100 teachers and students from our university visited the leading educational institution in Germany.

Within recent visit at the beginning of this month, delegation of students, teachers and staff employees of Lviv University visited faculties, centers and departments of the University of Würzburg, explored laboratories equipped with the latest technology. In particular, during the meeting at the Faculty of Philogy, students had an opportunity to communicate not only with teachers, but also young people who study Ukrainian. The first results of the successful cooperation of Würzburg and Lviv Universities certify the high reputation of the academic schools in the world and give grounds to speak about widening of prospects for the development of the two classical universities outlined in the memorandum.

Together with German colleagues, members of the delegation of Lviv University, summarizing, discussed the idea of creating a common online platform for both universities, including one in the social network Facebook. This online platform will allow students to share information about their universities, exchange programs, especially the educational process, as well as regarding the life of their cities.

At present about 2000 INFUL students study German language at different faculties and due to international exchange programs have the possibility to study at German universities.
