IFNUL Rector participated in the signing of the Declaration of Cooperation between the organizers of the 3rd Eastern Partnership Culture Congress

APRIL 23, 2015 – On April 22, 2015 in the premises of Lviv City Council organizers of the Eastern Partnership Culture Congress, Consul General of Poland in Lviv Jaroslaw Drozd, Acting Deputy Mayor of the city for Humanitarian Affairs Marta Lytvyniuk, Vice- President of Lublin Krzysztof Komorski, IFNUL Rector Volodymyr Melnyk, Chairman of the Foundation “Transculture” Rafał Koziński, Director of the Art Association “Dzyha” Markiyan Ivaschyshyn signed a Declaration on Cooperation.

“The mission of Culture in the Conditions of Crisis” will be the central topic of discussion and creative presentations that will take place during the Congress, which will be held in Lviv on September 4-6, 2015. Ukraine is going through te process of active political, civil, evaluative and cultural transformation, and it is an ideal platform to discuss pressing issues, to test innovative solutions and tools, that are relevant for other countries of the Eastern Partnership. Representatives of public administration, public organizations, academic communities, media and culture will meet at the Congress in order to conduct a debate of experts dedicated to the implementation of the Eastern Partnership as an instrument of the European Union policy.

The role of art as a provocateur of changes, discrepancies between declared and practiced European values, the crisis of efficiency of the Eastern Partnership in cultural policy, cultural economy, contraposition of culture and propaganda, integration challenges, fear in culture and the culture of fear – are the main topics that will be discussed at the Congress. The Third Eastern Partnership Culture Congress will be attended by Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus and Poland, France, UK, Belgium and Germany. In addition to discussions and lectures, a great part of the international forum will be focused on artistic projects of the participating countries.
