Establishing of Intercultural Dialogue: Ukraine-Israel Cooperation

SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 – On September 28, 2015, First Secretary of the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine Hennadiy Polishchuk visited IFNUL, where he had a meeting with Vice-Rector for Academic and International affairs, Prof. Mariya Zubrytska and Director of the Center for Political Studies, Professor of the Department of Political Science Anatoliy Romaniuk.

During the conversation the sides shared their thoughts on deepening cooperation between IFNUL and the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine, in particular the implementation of joint projects designed to expand knowledge of the University academic community about the culture of Israel and its educational system.

The interlocutors also discussed in detail the directions of Ukrainian-Israel relations, including the cooperation with Israel universities, organizing of academic exchanges, the introduction of guest lectures , joint programs and courses, conferences, symposiums, exhibitions and other events in order to share cultural heritage. In this context, special attention was focused on the opening of Israel Center in the University in future, which would function according to the model of the British Council and the Goethe Institute.

It should be noted that on the same day at the Faculty of Philosophy Volodymyr (Zeev) Khanin, Chief Scientist, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption of Israel, Professor of the Department of Political Science in the University of Bar Ilan, conducted the lecture “The political system of Israel: particularities of decentralization” to the students of the Department of Political Science.
