Foreign students from 4 continents demonstrated their knowledge of the Ukrainian language

MAY 29, 2015 – On May 22, 2015 an annual competition of foreign students presentations in Ukrainian on the topic “My native country” was held at the Preparatory School for International Students (PSIS) at IFNUL.

28 students from different continents demonstrated their knowledge of the Ukrainian language by making a virtual trip around the world from east to the west coast of the Pacific, told about 14 countries of Eurasia, Africa, North and South America which they represented.

Foreign students enthusiastically were talking about the place where they came from originally, their national traditions, culture, architecture, traditional cuisine. “Our country is the best in the world!” – students from China, Korea, Algeria and Kenya persuaded visitors of the presentation. “We love Ecuador!” – claimed the guests from South America.

After a long discussion the jury announced the results. Student from Libya Abdussalam Ayad, II – Avuor Walter Robin Muoni from Kenya won the first place, the third place was shared by students from Algeria and Burkina Faso Belkasem Safi, Ali Nasser Abdelkader, Bationo Abdunasiri.

Student from Iraq Al-Hussein Schwan Hamid Mousa won in the category “The best knowledge of Ukrainian language”. Dawiti Hulua from Georgia received people’s Choice Award. The team from Sierra Leone won in the category “National Costumes”. Kislinh Paul Edward from South America was awarded with title “For the will to win”. Winners were awarded and emotional spring photo shoot was taken in front of the building of the Center for International Education.
