Meeting of IFNUL Rector with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Ivan Počuch
MARCH 2, 2016 – In the framework of his business trip to Lviv Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Ivan Počuch visited the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where he had a meeting with Rector, Professor Volodymyr Melnyk, Vice-Rector for Academic and International Affairs Mariya Zubrytska and Deputy Dean of International Relations Ihor Byk. The dialogue between the representatives of the Ivan Franko University and Czech diplomats was also attended by Consul of General Consulate of the Czech Republic in Lviv Valerie Füleová.
During the conversation with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Rector of the IFNUL notified that regarding the European integration processes in Ukraine and its possible entry into the European educational space the international cooperation between the IFNUL and leading European universities and scientific institutions became more intense.
On cooperation of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with the major universities of Czech Republic and the development of Bohemistics at the University spoke Vice-Rector for Academic and International Affairs Mariya Zubrytska. The representatives of the IFNUL notified the growing interest of the University students in learning the Czech language, acquiring and deepening their knowledge in the Czech culture.
The Czech diplomats eagerly supported the initiatives of the University administration and assured them of their support regarding all educational projects. “More than 100 students annually are willing to learn the Czech language. Taking into consideration this information we will continue to invite guest speakers and lecturers to the University for the students to have the best grounds to master the Czech language”- Rector of the Ivan Franko University shared his plans.
The members of the meeting outlined the ways of development of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation in higher education and discussed concrete steps to fulfill the initiatives, specified during the conversation.
