New Master’s Program “Central Europe throughout history, from multinational monarchies to Visegrad cooperation” has been started at the University

OCTOBER 13, 2016 – Within the framework of program “Visegrad grants for universities in “Eastern Partnership” countries” with the financial support of the International Visegrad Fund, the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv started Master’s Program in the history of specialization “Central Europe throughout history, from multinational monarchies to Visegrad cooperation”.

Therefore from now about 20 students from Faculty of History who have chosen this master’s program will be able to attend lectures of the best scholars from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, attend their seminars and prepare academic papers under their supervision.

The official presentation of the new master’s program was held on September 6, 2016. Vice-Rector for Academic and International Affairs, Professor Mariya Zubrytska addressed the participants with an opening speech. Vice Rector emphasized the importance of academic approach, responsibility and thoroughness of the developers of the new curriculum who made great efforts for development of this program into a perspective project both for students and for teachers.

Research module lasts four semesters. During this time students will be able to perform their research projects in the field of modern Central European history, develop appropriate methodology and formulate theoretical principles. Master’s seminar will include at least one workshop in each semester during which students have to present their achievements.
