The delegation of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv visited Wurzburg University (Germany)
SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 – On September 24-27, 2014 delegation of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv headed by the Rector, Prof. Volodymyr Melnyk visited Wurzburg University, which has asserted its leading positions among universities in Germany within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement at the invitation of the Rector of Wurzburg University, Prof. Alfred Forhel.
The delegation included 17 people, among them – Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Maria Zubrytska, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Mykhailo Zarichnyi, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Yarema Savula and prominent scientists from our university.
Programme of the visit included general presentations of two universities and separate faculties of natural sciences and humanities: Mechanics and Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Representatives of Wurzburg University during their presentation acquainted the delegates with achievements of their university in various fields of science, from cosmetology and pharmaceuticals to nanotechnology, and told about the activities of structural units of the university during meetings with faculty representaives.
Delegation of Lviv National University had an opportunity to get acquainted with the best laboratories of Wurzburg University and their modern equipment. Visitors were impressed by the university library and by a mini-exhibition of Ukrainian books from its collection.
Visit program of IFNUL academics to Würzburg included more than 20 meetings, during which the future plans for implementation of major joint projects and funding opportunities were discussed.
