The First Student Dialogue within the EUniverse project

On March 26, 2025, the Student Dialogue was organized by Center for International Cooperation as part of the EUniverse project. The purpose of the event is to create an open space for discussing current challenges of international students.

During the event, the participants – students from Ukraine, the UK, China, Poland, and Türkiye – were able to share their personal experiences (as international students in Ukraine and as participants in the Erasmus+ program abroad), discuss challenges and best practices, and share ideas on how to improve the educational and civic engagement of international students at Lviv University. The “Student Dialogue” was an opportunity to establish better cooperation between students and university staff and representatives of student organizations. The fruitful discussion resulted in the planning of the next meetings and steps towards improving the integration of international students and building a more inclusive community at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and beyond.

“I am pleased that the students actively joined the dialogue, and it became a platform for free discussion of needs, problems and ideas, as well as an opportunity to share opinions and compare everyone’s experience. The students discussed the language barrier, the situation with living in student dormitories, involvement in university and city life, etc., and this allowed us to see the necessary directions for further activities. I believe that this dialogue was the first step towards creating a full-fledged international community at our University,” says Yulia Voloshchuk, specialist at the Center for International Cooperation.

The EUniverse project aims to improve student mobility and integration by introducing European values and civic engagement initiatives into educational activities, which will improve students’ skills and intercultural understanding. The project consortium includes universities from 8 countries – France, Spain, Poland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Ukraine – as well as the Erasmus Student Network and Coimbra Group. The EUniverse project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program (2023-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000161653).
