Visit of Šiauliai University (Lithuania) delegation to IFNUL
OCTOBER 12, 2015 – On October 7, 2015, the delegation of Šiauliai University (Lithuania) visited the IFNUL and had the meeting with the Prof. Mariyan Lozynskyi, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Prof. Yaroslav Kalychak, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, Prof. Mykhaylo Zarichnyy, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Bohdan Yakymovych, Professor of the Faculty of History.
Vaclovas Tričys, Professor of Šiauliai University, outlined the main aspects of studing in Lithuanian universities and noted that “our graduates have proven themselves as scientists. There are 6 Associate Professors only from the first two issues who are working at Vilnius Universities. “
Vaclovas Tričys also noted that Lithuanian government will finance this year’s Master’s programs for foreign students, particularly from Ukraine.
It is to be recalled that in 2005 Šiauliai University(Lithuania) signed the cooperation agreement between IFNUL and Vasilian Institut for Philosophy and Theology Studies. Professor Aldona Vasiliauskienė noted that “thanks to our active cooperation Lithuanian students had the opportunity to take part in archaeological excavations in the village Pidhirtsi in Lviv region, led by Prof. Mykhaylo Fylypchuk. In our university Days of Lviv National University are regularly conducted. In future we plan to create the Centre of the Lithuanian language and culture at IFNUL”.
During the meeting the sides exchanged their thoughts on mechanisms of future cooperation, including intensification of cultural activities.
